Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT)

Restore Movement. Improve Function. Stay Ahead of Pain.

What Is OMT?

OMT is a hands-on approach used by osteopathic physicians (DOs) to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. This treatment involves using the hands to move muscles and joints through stretching, gentle pressure, and resistance.

At Triune Health DPC, OMT is part of a comprehensive physician-guided approach to recovery, performance, and long-term wellness.

How Does It Work?

First, the physician assesses your muscles, joints, and tissues to identify areas of restriction or dysfunction. Then, through careful, targeted manual techniques, they work to restore balance and alignment, allowing the body to move more efficiently and function more effectively.

What are the Benefits of OMT?

Holistic Approach

Osteopathic physicians focus on caring for the entire individual rather than addressing symptoms in isolation. Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) reflects this comprehensive approach by recognizing the interconnected relationship between the body and mind, and how that interplay influences overall health.

Pain Relief

OMT is commonly used to help relieve pain, particularly chronic conditions. By restoring proper alignment and improving how the body functions, many patients experience meaningful pain relief without depending exclusively on medication.

Enhanced Mobility

OMT can benefit individuals with restricted mobility from injury or chronic conditions by addressing underlying structural imbalances and helping to restore more natural movement.

Improved Circulation

OMT techniques can enhance circulation and promote lymphatic flow, helping to support the body’s natural healing mechanisms and contributing to overall well-being.

Complementary Treatment

OMT works well alongside a wide range of treatments, including medical, surgical, and rehabilitative approaches, making it an integral part of comprehensive patient care.
